Lightning T.5 XS422 taxies in the US

Some good news from Stennis, Mississippi. English Electric Lightning T.5 XS422 has taxied under its own power for the first time since restoration began. The taxi run on May 12 was the latest significant step forward in the Anglo American Lightning Organisation’s (AALO) bid to return XS422 to the skies. The next stage will be more comprehensive and faster runs. Look out for more on this in a future issue of FlyPast.

The achievement was dedicated to the late Andrew Brodie, who led the AALO for many years. It was also dedicated to Geoff Commins, another key member of the team, who sadly passed away recently.
