The RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight has issued the following update on Spitfire PM631. The image is via the BBMF’s Facebook page.
It’s pretty much 3 years since PM631 has seen the light of day, but we are hoping to have her out towards the back end of next month. This specimen, one of our 3 original Mk XIX Spitfires originally sourced from the Temperature and Humidity Monitoring Unit at Woodvale in 1957, is presented in the colours of 541 Sqn, which undertook Photo Recon over Europe from early 1944 to the end of the war. It’ll be nice to have a companion for PS915 again.
Keep an eye on FlyPast for more on this aircraft in the near future, and of course the other BBMF aircraft.
