617 Squadron’s homecoming

617 Squadron – famous for their role in World War Two, including of course the Dambusters raid – have ‘come home’ to the UK after reforming in April of this year on the F-35B Lightning II in the US.

Arriving at RAF Marham on June 6 just after 8pm, the ‘homecoming’ saw the Officer Commanding 617 Sqn – Wing Commander John Butcher – lead a flight of four ’35s into Marham after their transatlantic trip.
