The full line-up of air displays, ground displays and Armed Forces Day celebrations have been revealed for the 2018 Weston Air Festival, which will take place over the weekend of Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June.
The RAF Red Arrows head up the flying displays at the show, which is free to attend.
With 2018 marking the Centenary celebrations of the RAF, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will provide a fitting tribute to British air power, flying over Weston Beach on Saturday and Sunday. The RAF Typhoon, Team Raven, Strikemaster, Pitts Special, AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers, Red Bull BO-105 and Autogyro will also perform for expected crowds of 100,000 people each day.
A highlight of this year’s Weston Air Festival will be the town’s Armed Forces Day celebrations, which have been put together by the Weston-super-Mare Armed Forces Committee and will take place over both days of the event.
On the Beach Lawns, next to the seafront, the Armed Forces events will include a grand opening parade, led by the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines.
Along the seafront the many exhibition stands, bars, food stalls, family activities and fairgrounds will ensure there is plenty to see and do at ground level.
There will also be static helicopter displays from the RN Merlin, Danish Air Force, Westland Whirlwind, Sycamore (Red Bull) and Gazelle.
