Photo of the week – B-25 ‘Ferret’ Mitchell

Photo: Image courtesy James Alderman via Bill Cahill.

The so-called ‘Ferret’ Mitchells were aircraft adapted to ‘listening in’ on Japanese radar stations. In this image, Lt James Alderman can be seen exploring the interior of 42nd BG B-25 Ferret ‘983 one last time before shipping out to the Far East, as part of the Air Technical Intelligence Group. More on this story can be found in the current FlyPast – in UK shops now.
