Featuring rarely seen images and world exclusive artwork, we dig into the little-known history of this potent Luftwaffe night-fighter. Typhoon ace A memoir written by the RAF’s highest-scoring Hawker Typhoon ace, the late Wg Cdr Johnny Baldwin, is presented by his son James. Mastering the Harrier Roy Gamblin recounts his time learning to fly the legendary Harrier jump jet with the RAF. Pilot profile – Neville Duke Ken Ellis and Graham Pitchfork outline the extraordinary career of one of Britain’s greatest aviators. Starfighter lives on Luigino Caliaro explores the roles of F-104s operated by civilian contractor Starfighters Aerospace. We also celebrate the return to the air of a fourth de Havilland Mosquito - PZ474 has made its first post-restoration flight in New Zealand and it’s not the only debutante this month. We also look at a CT-133 Silver Star that has roared back into Canadian skies following sterling work in London, Ontario. Elsewhere, Ken Ellis reflects on Britain’s bizarre series of prone-pilot prototypes, where the pilot would effectively lie flat to fly the aircraft. Jürgen Schelling takes to the air in a freshly restored DH Dove and Sean Feast describes action in the powerful but flawed Bristol Brigand.
