National Warbird Operator Conference set for February in Tucson

Presented by Ladd Gardner Aviation Insurance, the National Warbird Operator Conference (NWOC) will go ahead on February 21 to 24, 2019, in Tucson, Arizona.

The annual NWOC event has been held since 1993 and aims to bring together warbird owners and operators with museum directors to address issues affecting warbirds. The constantly evolving laws regarding the operation of ex-military aircraft are always a challenge – NWOC will aim to establish better understanding of these, and set out some common goals.

Safety is of course paramount to the operation of historic aircraft, and NWOC will continue to focus on the latest ideas and information concerning these matters. It aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of pilots, as well as improve knowledge for restorers and aircraft maintenance technicians. Speakers at the event include USAF Major General Tommy Williams, Col. Richard H. Graham, and Rob Mitchell. Group tours will be arranged to explore the nearby Pima Air & Space Museum and the ‘boneyard’ at Davis–Monthan Air Force Base. The conference will be hosted this year at Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa.
